Preston Homeless Forum is an umbrella organisation for groups working with homeless people in our city. We were established as far back as 1989.

Our members include various voluntary, community and faith sector organisations such as :

The Salvation Army

The Foxton Centre

Fox Street Community


Fishergate Baptist Church

And Statutory Agencies such as

Preston City Council Housing Advice Service

Lancashure Probation Trust

Health Service for the Homeless

We meet three or four times each year usually on a Monday Morning at the Foxton Centre.   Please contact us if you wish to join or become involved.

There is a steering group / committee and various working groups which meet between these gatherings to progress meetings.

Together we have worked on a number of projects to improve and co-ordinate services for homeless people and to support and offer training for volunteers working with homeless people.

Recent projects and activities have included:

Speakouts ; consultation events with homeless people and service users

Winterwatch: planning and delivery of emergency accommodation in cold weather

Strategic Planning: Developing a Rough Sleeping Strategy and a wider homelessness strategy for the city.

Soup Kitchen Action Research Project including training events for volunteers

Information Service Project: producing and updating leaflets and this web site

Rough Sleepers Census and other research to monitor local homelessness
