1)      Sleeping Rough –  Sleeping on public highways and in door ways of shops and stores is prohibited in Preston .  If the police find you sleeping in these areas you will be moved along.  They also move on persons found sleeping on benches during the day and at night

 

2)      Begging – Begging in Preston is illegal and the police say any person found begging in Preston will be arrested. Asking for any item including money, food and clothing is classed as begging and is an offence.

3)      Alcohol consumption – Drinking alcohol in public places in Preston City Centre is prohibited.  Persons found drinking in the City by the police will have their alcohol disposed of including any unopened cans or bottles and could also face a fine.  Refusal to surrender alcohol to any Police Officer or Police Community Support Officer is an offence which you can be arrested for.

 

4) Drug Use – possession or using  or trading illegal drugs will not be tolerated by the police and will be classed as an offence.
